What we do

At SALT, we have five main programs that help empower and transform the lives of young individuals in Cambodia. We are dedicated to making a positive impact through our Mighty Girls and Mighty Men programs, as well as our Youth Leagues, Festivals, and Community Coaching initiatives. Come and see what we do!

Mighty Girls

SALT carefully accepts 20 teenage girls from impoverished villages who are at the most at risk of neglect, abuse and being trafficked. This full time intensive program uses football, an education and Christ centered discipleship to equip these teenagers through their highschool years until they are ready to be sent out as community changers that are on fire for Christ who pass on all that they have learned to others.

Mighty Men

The Mighty Men Program was only recently founded in 2020. SALT believes that boys need to be trained up and molded into men who are seeking after God's own heart. This program also has 20 carefully selected boys who come from traumatic backgrounds of abuse, trafficking & extreme poverty. This program mirrors the Mighty Girl program in education, soccer and discipleship but they are run separate from each other.

Youth Leagues

SALT Youth Leagues create a safe environment for competitive football to take place, while sharing the Gospel to over 1,200 youth weekly. The leagues are run at a high standard that brings in teams even from other provinces. The Gospel is shared to each and every athlete through dance, dramas and sound Biblical teaching. The 40 Mighty Girls & Men work in collaboration with the SALT staff to put into application all the leadership, character & life skills lessons they have learned. They do this by coaching teams, refereeing and facilitating logistical details. The leagues couldn’t be run without them.

Festivals

By organizing festivals, SALT is able to reach beyond our city and province. During each of our festivals, we provide several hundred young youth in the community with simple football classes, fun games, and life changing news of Jesus Christ. These festivals reach remote villages and allow us to partner with schools, churches and organizations all over Cambodia. This is another opportunity for our young Mighty Men & Mighty Girls to pass on what they've learned through our programs to their own nation as they facilitate most of the festival.

Community Coaching

The Mighty Girls & Mighty Men are taught how to coach, licensed and then coach their own teams in their own villages. That’s 40 Mighty Girls & Mighty Men coaching over 400 young youth weekly! This coaching provides the Mighty Members a practical way to give back what they have learned, practice leading and grow in their coaching ability. As Mighty Girls & Mighty Men are coming to Christ themselves, this community coaching becomes their first chance at outreach ministry, sharing their faith and discipling others.
